Dear Colleagues,

The 27th National Nephrology, Hypertension, Dialysis and Transplantation Congress of the Turkish Society of Nephrology (TSN) will be held at Rixos Sungate Hotel’s Congress Center in Kemer - Beldibi in, Antalya between 22 - 26 September 2010. We expect to see all our members and those who are interested in nephrology and work in this field.

We expect the TSN’s 2010 congress, whose fortieth anniversary we have celebrated, to be a scientific feast to be remembered with its great number of participants and its high level of scientific content. Topics regarding nephrology, dialysis and hypertension have been selected in the light of new developments and by taking into consideration the views and suggestions of working groups and our members. Prominent domestic and foreign speakers will present the selected topics. Moreover, we have strived to make sure that young academicians take active parts in the scientific program. On the other hand, we are very happy that eminent Turkish academicians from abroad will participate in our congress. We are planning special activities for the 40th anniversary for this year’s congress. In addition to the general congress program, two pre-congress course programs have been organized. The first course will be supported by ERA-EDTA, and it will be about Renal Epidemiology on 22 - 24 September 2010. Prominent speakers from ERA-EDTA Registry Board will make presentations regarding research in nephrology and advanced statistics at this course. Topic of the second course is “Hypertension” and it aims to review current diagnosis and treatment approaches regarding hypertension.

I would like to thank Prof Turgay Arınsoy Congress Secretary for his devoted efforts in uplifting both scientific level and the social merit of the 27th National Congress of TSN, Prof Cengiz Utaş, who carried out the relations with the international participants successfully, my other colleagues in the Congress Organizing Committee and everyone who spent great effort. I would like to thank the companies who have contributed to our congress with their sponsorships.

We are happy to meet in Antalya again, which is a unique world city with its natural, historical and cultural richness and to celebrate the 40th anniversary of our society with a great participation. I hope our annual congress, which is the most important scientific and educational activity, will be successful this year as well and will be beneficial for the participants.
Best regards,

Gültekin Süleymanlar
President, Turkish Society of Nephrology
